Introduction
Scarborough City was established in 2012 with the objective of fielding a competitive soccer team that is capable of developing talented individuals, while achieving long term success in the Ontario Soccer League. In its inaugural season, Scarborough City will field one Men’s team, participating in the Multi-Jurisdictional East Division.
Scarborough City SC was looking to obtain an easy to maintain, clean, modern looking site. What Design Loud Web Solutions was able to provide was a custom WordPress solution with multiple sidebars, a news blog, and plans for future Twitter integration as the team grows.
This site shows exactly what you are able to obtain using a CMS; allowing you to design and customize the site you way like without giving up the ability to maintain the site longterm with little to no technical knowledge.

Introduction
When I was approached to put together a site for Jessica Bossé Photography, a new startup photography company servicing anywhere from the Durham Region to London Ontario, I jumped at the opportunity to design a site that would bring out the best in both the photography and the online experience. Our first thought in the design phase was simple, who was going to maintain the site? When Jessica decided that she would want to maintain the site the decision was easy to move to the WordPress platform. At first we started looking at a full page layout to display the true essence of the chosen images. Although the layout and look of the site was spectacular it became rapidly clear that not only was it not practical due to the immense size of the images, but that maintaining the site would be much to cumbersome for what we wanted.
After much thought, the idea of producing a more clean and modern design featuring a front page slider and some blog posts came to fruition. Jessica had an idea in her head of a simple, fun, clean design that would allow both her and her visitors to navigate easily to where they want to go. Though there were some limitations to how we could manage content within WordPress, we were able to find a suitable plugin that allowed us to manage the images neatly and access them seamlessly.
The overall design of the site included a simplified homepage with 10 slider images and the 3 most recent blog posts, a blog page, a master portfolio page along with individual portfolio pages and albums within those pages, an about Jessica page and a Contact Me page. The Contact page is Google Maps enabled however it was decided that for now, the best thing for the site would be to disable the map and keep the page clean and static with a jquery/php contact form.
With links to both Flickr and Facebook, this site is fully integrated with Jessica's social media sites and allows her to keep her visitors up to date on all her activities. Another major feature of the site is the RSS feed of Jessica's Blog which is accessible through Google Reader or any other RSS reader.
Keeping my web design businesses in and around the Durham Region, I am able to provide a very personal experience that offers piece of mind in the service you receive. If you like the work I've done on Jessica's site, head on over to the Contact Page to drop me a line and let me see what I can do for you!
